NEW Bird Photo Group for CCCC Members!
The recent report from Channel City Camera Club Membership committee suggested that we form special interest groups (SIGs) and a survey supported the idea. I’ve decided to share my special interest in birds, especially birds in flight.
This is an invitation to join me in bird photo shoots on Wednesday mornings in January. All levels of competence are welcome. We can mentor each other and share techniques and photos.
Here is the schedule for January. I’m looking forward to meeting up with others who may share my interest:
- Wednesday, Jan 2, 7:30 AM: Goleta Beach. Far East end of the parking lot.
- Wednesday, Jan 9, 7:30 AM: Lake Los Carneros. Take path off La Patera to the dam.
- Wednesday, Jan 16, 8:30 AM: Cliff above the Carpinteria seal sanctuary. Meet at the parking lot at the Bailard Road Southbound exit. If you are late, walk toward the cliff and then West, crossing the tracks to the sanctuary. It is a half mile walk. Good for shots to the side and down on flying birds.
- Wednesday, Jan 23, 7:30 AM: UCSB Lagoon. Enter UCSB at the end of Ward Parkway, and at the entry traffic circle follow the coast to the end of the road. Use the coast access parking. The cost is $5 for two hours. One hour might be enough but I don’t know the cost. Carpool with me at 7:20 if you like from the Goleta Beach location described above.
It’s fine just to show up at any of these shoots, but I’d also like to know if you’re planning to join me so I can be on the lookout for you. Email me at [email protected] to RSVP (not required) or if you have any questions.
